COVID-19 and College Students: What you Absolutely Need to Know
The San Diego Community College District (SDCCD), which transitioned 60,000 students to all online classes on March 23, announced it expects to continue with online classes through the remainder of the spring semester. In addition, the district — which includes San Diego City, Mesa, and Miramar colleges as well as San Diego Continuing Education — will offer all online classes this summer.
Thank you for your patience as the San Diego Community College District works to protect your health and safety and ensure the continuity of instruction. As you know, classes were paused for one week to prepare for remote instruction. We hope that you are adjusting to these new methods and we encourage you to hang in there. Below you will find important resources and updates to class deadlines.

Miramar College has purchased 300 laptops to be loaned out to students in need of such technology so that they may continue to pursue their academic goals with little interruption.
These laptops will be distributed to students on Saturday, April 18 from 10am-12pm in front of the college’s P3 parking structure just off of Westview Parkway.
Beginning May 7, Miramar College will provide drive up WiFi services to its students. Students can access WiFi in parking lot #2 off Black Mountain Parkway nearest the H Building. Students will be allowed to park in lot #2 Monday-Thursday from 8am-8pm and from 8am-3pm on Friday's. Parking is allowed in lot #2 only and students must remain inside their vehicles. In order to social distance, we ask that students park in every other space and leave one empty space between each car. Students may park in marked staff and student spaces.
Fall semester classes across the San Diego Community College District (SDCCD) will be offered primarily through online and distance education. The decision was announced this week by SDCCD Chancellor Constance M. Carroll in an email to the district’s 5,000 employees. The district’s 100,000 students also are being informed.
Through the support of the federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act, San Diego Miramar College is able to offer emergency financial aid grants to eligible students for specific expenses that are a direct result of the disruption of campus operations due to COVID-19.
P. Wesley Lundburg, an experienced community college leader who for the past five years has been serving as Executive Dean and CEO of the Ammerman Campus at Suffolk County Community College on Long Island, New York, has been named the new president of San Diego Miramar College.
