Supply Chain Scholarship Now Available

The Biotechnology Program at Miramar College is offering the Service-Learning Supply Chain Experience (SCE) Scholarship again this intersession. SCE prepares students for employment in the life sciences industry by providing laboratory technical skills training along with education and career counseling, industry exploration, job searching skills, and resume building. Students will participate in hands-on lab activities where they will gain work experience in the Miramar Biotech Lab by manufacturing products for customers. Participating students will become eligible for a $1000 scholarship. SCE scholarships are made possible thanks to grant support from San Diego Foundation.

What: BIOL 277L Service Learning, 1 unit course (50 hours)

When: January 8-19, 2024 (weekdays), 9:00a-3:00p

Where: Zoom (week 1) and Miramar College (week 2)

Acceptance: All are welcome to apply. Grant expectations will guide selection. California College Promise Grant (CCPG) recipients*, underrepresented students of color, female students, students with disabilities, first generation college students, English learners, unemployed individuals, homeless individuals, single parents, and youth who are in, or have aged out of, the foster care system are encouraged to apply. 

 $1000 Scholarship Requirements:

  • Commit to and complete 50 hours of BIOL 277L (SCE)
  • Stay enrolled in spring 2024 OR complete certificate/degree/transfer
  • Must be interested in pursuing a job in the sciences
  • Must have SDCCD CSID
