San Diego Miramar College is approved by the California State Department of Education and is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and College (WASC).
San Diego Miramar College is also approved (under Title 38 U.S. Code) by the Bureau for Private Postsecondary and Vocational Education and the Department of Veteran Affairs Regional Office, to train United States active duty military personnel, military veterans, and their eligible dependents.
Application to the College
All VA applicants must complete the Application for Admission to San Diego Miramar College. Students who have not been in continuous attendance for one year must file a new application for admission. Applications for admissions are available on the Internet at http://studentweb.sdccd.edu
Veterans' Enrollment Information
- Remember to pay your fees on time or you will be dropped for nonpayment. If you are dropped, it may be difficult to get back into the classes.
- Your fall certification will be done as soon as possible. However, any classes you add or drop after you are certified will not be reported to the VA until after the add/drop date.
The Education Center can only provide TA for Marines and Sailors. First time TA users, regardless of rank, must attend College 101 prior to being authorized TA. College 101 is offered every Wednesday and Friday 1130-1230 at the Education Center. Unit briefs given in the work space are available, schedule permitting, for groups of 10 or larger (no exceptions).
Military Outreach Programs and Services for Active Duty Military and Family Members
San Diego Miramar College offers a variety of general education courses at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar (MCAS). These courses are open to military personnel, their families and all Miramar College students.
Active Duty Personnel
If you are still on active duty, you must have your base Educational Services/Tuition Assistant Officer certify your application by signing the appropriate documents. They will give you a tuition voucher that you will submit (by hand) to the Accounting Office on campus. This VA Office is not involved in processing active duty applications.

Chapter 31 (Vocational Rehab)
Veterans who qualify for educational benefits as disabled veterans may be entitled to special education benefits. Veterans should visit the Veterans Administration Regional Office to determine their eligibility for disabled status.
