Cosmic Tours

Hi Everyone,

Ever wish you can see the night sky but not have to travel hours for a dark enough location where you're in the middle of nowhere and experience extreme weather?

You're in luck!

UC San Diego is bringing their indoor planetarium show, Cosmic Tours to Miramar College on Thursday, May 11. The show will be held in the student lounge (2nd floor) of the K-building. There will be two shows: 12:40 - 1:10 PM and 1:15 - 1:45 PM.

The planetarium only holds about 30 people per show, so spots are limited and it will be first come first serve. This will also serve as an opportunity for UCSD astronomy undergrad and grad students to talk to Miramar students about their exciting research projects and how they themselves could potentially get involved. See the flyer below!

Cosmic Tours is an integrated education and outreach program to bring the Universe to you! The UCSD Optical InfraRed (OIR) lab maintains and facilitates the use of the portable planetarium for public shows for schools and other outreach events. A planetarium serves as a fantastic facility for interactive scientific visualization. Portable planetaria make use of an inflatable dome that includes an advanced projector. Our team currently offers a traditional astronomical experience of the night sky and offer pre-arranged visualization programs and full dome movies that are developed for children and adults.
