Invest in Success

The College’s annual Invest in Success fundraiser returned after being cancelled three consecutive years due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Held at Bali Hai restaurant on Shelter Island, the October fundraiser generated $17,000.00 in revenue which will be used to fund scholarships. One-hundred and sixteen attended the event. The San Diego Miramar College Foundation raised over $34,000.00 during its 2019 Invest in Success Fundraiser held May 4 at the private residence of Bill and Joanie Huck in Coronado, Ca. The Foundation wishes to thank the Huck family for opening their home to us for a third year.The 9th annual fundraiser was attended by 71 guests who enjoyed a night of food, spirits, silent auction bidding and pretend casino gaming.

"The money raised on May 4 will help ensure an endowment for the Freshman Scholarship program," said Dr. Patricia Hsieh, president of San Diego Miramar College. “This endowment will be established as a result of the total amount raised since the Miramar College Foundation’s 2011 Invest in Success event.” Over 100 guests purchased tickets for the event that generated $11,550.00 in ticket sales. Fifty donated silent auction items sold for a combined $5,682.00. The Foundation’s community partners and individual donors contributed another $25,342 in sponsorships and donations.

On April 10, the Miramar College Foundation administered 50 awards totaling $165,250. An additional 40 external awards, totaling $83,000 were awarded to deserving students bringing the grand total awarded to $248,250, an increase of $75,250 from the previous year.

The San Diego Miramar College Foundation raised over $47,000 during its 2018 Invest in Success Fundraiser held May 5 at the private residence of Foundation Board member Tony Pizarro in Rancho Santa Fe, Ca.

The 8th annual fundraiser was attended by more than 140 guests who enjoyed a night of food, spirits, silent auction bidding and pretend casino gaming.

"The money raised on May 5 will ensure an endowment for the Freshman Scholarship program will be established. Thanks to Miramar College Foundation, the first Invest in Success fundraiser was held in 2011 to raise scholarship fund to support incoming freshmen annually." said Dr. Patricia Hsieh, president of San Diego Miramar College. “This year’s proceed continues to bring the Foundation closer to reach the goal of establishing an endowment.”

Over 140 guests participated in the event that generated $11,625 in ticket sales. Fifty-seven donated silent auction items sold for a combined $7,715. The Foundation’s community partners and individual donors contributed another $38,071.24 in sponsorships and donations.

On April 25, Miramar College hosted its 24th annual Scholarship Awards Ceremony whereby the Miramar College Foundation administered 180 awards totaling $90,637. An additional 64 external awards, totaling $83,000 will be awarded to deserving students bringing the grand total awarded to $173,637, an increase of just over $18,000 from the previous year.

The 2019 Invest in Success fundraiser is scheduled for Saturday, May 4, 2019 and will be held at a private residence in Coronado, Ca.

The San Diego Miramar College Foundation raised $37,157.62 during its 2017 Invest in Success Fundraiser held May 6 at a private residence in Coronado, Ca.

This year’s fundraiser was attended by 110 guests who enjoyed a night of food, spirits, silent auction bidding and pretend casino gaming.

"We had another fantastic turnout for this very important Foundation event," said Dr. Patricia Hsieh, president of San Diego Miramar College. "The money raised on May 6 will help ensure that we keep our Freshman Scholarship program and other scholarships solvent."

The Foundation sold 95 tickets to the event that generated $8,900. Forty-one donated silent auction items sold for a combined $5,100. The Foundation’s community partners and individual donors contributed another $29,980 in sponsorships.
