International Students: Application Processing

Students will receive notification of the decision on their acceptance or denial approximately 30 days after the application deadline.

Notification of Acceptance

If you are accepted to San Diego Miramar College you will be sent an acceptance letter and I-20 form, Certificate of Eligibility for Nonimmigrant (F-1) Student Status. You must apply to the nearest United States Consulate or Embassy in your country to apply for an F1 visa (student visa). In addition, there is a mandatory SEVIS fee charged to all new F-1 visa applicants. Information on this fee is available at You will also receive information on this fee with your acceptance packet. If you are already here in the U.S., please meet with the International Student Advisor and Admissions Supervisor. You will be instructed how to apply for a change to an F-1 student status or how to complete your transfer to our college.
