Graduation

Typical Schedule & Dates (check with Admissions for exact dates and times)

  Time Graduation Day  
  2:30 p.m.  All graduates must check-in at the registration table prior to the start of the commencement ceremony.  At that time, graduates will receive a name card and an instruction card for the ceremony..  

  3:30 p.m.  Line up for Academic Procession Graduates will line up in the hallway just east of the Grand Ballroom in preparation for the ‘march’ or academic procession into the Grand Ballroom.  Miramar staff and ushers will be available to assist as needed.

  4:00 p.m.  Academic Procession Begins The stage party will lead the procession, followed by faculty, administration and graduates.  

  5:30 p.m.  Reception A reception to honor graduates, faculty and guests will be held following the ceremony.  
Important Information
  Caps & Gowns   On sale at the Bookstore May 1 for approximately $40;

Monday-Thursday 9 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.

  Announcements & Class Rings May be ordered online at http://www.CBgrad.com.  Class rings can also be ordered online at http://www.balfourcollege.com 

  Parking   Graduates and guest may park in the self-parking structure located at the hotel. 

  Mailing Address  If your mailing address has changed, notify Evaluations and Admissions.  

  Special Accommodations   The second Friday in May is the deadline to notify the Evaluations Office if you need special accommodations.  

  Honors   The second Friday in May is the deadline to notify the Evaluations Office if you believe you are graduating with honors.  

  Publications   The second Friday in May is the deadline to notify the Evaluations Office if you do not want your name published.  

  Notification of Intent   You must notify the Evaluations Office of your intent to participate in the commencement ceremony by returning the Graduation Registration Form no later than Friday May 16, 2008.  This form is mandatory in order to participate in the commencement ceremony.

  Photographs  Professional photographers will be on hand to take pictures of every graduate during the awarding of degrees. If you wish to order graduation pictures, you may do so by completing and returning the card issued by the photographer during rehearsal.  

  Diplomas & Certificates  A presentation folder will be given to each graduate who participates in the commencement ceremony. The actual certificate or diploma will not be issued until a final evaluation has been completed to verify that all requirements for graduation have been satisfied.
