Helpful Hints to Keep in Mind when Applying

  • Apply as early as possible.
  • Read all printed information provided.
  • Report your legal name and Social Security Number as they appear on your Social Security card.
  • The Title IV School Code for:
    • San Diego Miramar College is 014172
    • San Diego City College is 001273
    • San Diego Mesa College is 001275
  • Income information must be provided by student (students under 24 years of age must also provide parents' income information as well as signature).
  • Proof of high school diploma or the equivalent is an eligibility requirement for financial aid participation.
    • (If you do not have either one, you must pass the Ability to Benefit Test. Contact the Assessment Center at (619) 388-7379 or (858) 536-7864 for a schedule of test dates.) In addition, you can also gain eligibility for aid after you ahve successfully completed six units that are applicable toward a degree or certificate.

  • Conflicting or missing information will delay processing.
  • Keep copies of all documents submitted for your records.
