    Helpful Hints to Keep in Mind when Applying

  • Apply as early as possible.
  • Read all printed information provided.
  • Report your legal name and Social Security Number as they appear on your Social Security card.
  • The Title IV School Code for:
    • San Diego Miramar College is 014172
    • San Diego City College is 001273
    • San Diego Mesa College is 001275
  • Income information must be provided by student (students under 24 years of age must also provide parents' income information as well as signature).
  • Proof of high school diploma or the equivalent is an eligibility requirement for financial aid participation.
    (If you do not have either one, you must pass the Ability to Benefit Test. Contact the Assessment Center at (619) 388-7379 or (858) 536-7864 for a schedule of test dates.)
  • FAFSA on the web at icon http://www.fafsa.ed.gov.
  • Conflicting or missing information will delay processing.
  • Keep copies of all documents submitted for your records.
