Collection Development

Your recommendations for additions or deletions to our collection will help keep the Library vital, current and responsive to the college’s curriculum changes. To help develop our ever-expanding collection, you can recommend that the Library

  • purchase books/DVDs on subjects that the Library needs more information

  • purchase specific titles that support your instructional programs

  • discard specific titles that are dated or obsolete

Each librarian has been assigned a specific subject area to develop. See our Staff Directory to contact the person responsible for the collection in your subject area.

You can search for videos at Miramar via the library catalog. To supplement our collection, Miramar belongs to a consortium which has a common video collection. You should check the consortium's MediaNet catalog for title availability and then contact the Miramar AV Services department to place an order for pickup. Learn how to do this at the AV Services web page.
