Longtime Miramar College Employee Sam Shooshtary Passes Away

It is with great sadness and sense of loss that we share the news of the untimely passing of one of our colleagues, Sam Shooshtary, on December 31. Sam was a valued member of the EOPS/CARE/CalWORKs team since 2007. Prior to that assignment, he served as an Instructional Assistant from 2000-2007. Additionally, he served as a leader with Classified Senate for several years during his time at Miramar College.

The Amazin' Jets!

Nineteen-sixty-nine was a memorable year in New York City baseball folklore. The New York Mets won a World Series Championship just a year removed from an 89-loss season. As a result of that dramatic turnaround, the hometown 9 has come to be affectionately known as the “Amazin’ Mets.”
