New Structure Eases Student Parking

As classroom doors open to thousands of San Diego Miramar College students during this first week of the fall semester, the gates to a the first parking structure in campus history also swing open, providing more than 800 additional parking spaces.

College President Dr. Patricia Hsieh said, "More students than ever are seeking high demand, general education, transfer and vocational courses. I am happy to report that for students who find classes at San Diego Miramar College, they will also find parking."

The $17.8 million parking structure and police substation facility is located at the northeastern edge of the 120-acre campus and is funded by Propositions S and N -- local facilities bonds approved by voters in 2002 and 2006. A grand opening celebration is being planned for the near future.
