The Diesel Technology program provides the student with an opportunity to master the skills and knowledge required for success in servicing, maintaining, and repairing diesel powered highway trucks, off-road heavy equipment, stationary engines, and marine craft.
San Diego Miramar College will prepare you for employment as a diesel technician and introduce you to alternative fuels, quality workmanship, safety procedures, proper work attitudes, theory or operation, and repair of all major vehicle components.
The Diesel Technology Program's faculty and staff members have vast knowledge and experience in the industry. Through continued professional development and industry partnerships, they are aware of current and upcoming trends, as well as advances in technology.
Industry partners are a key feature of the Diesel Technology Program. Through our partnerships with industry leaders, we provide up-to-date training for our students, ensuring that they are ready and able to actively participate in the workforce.
The Diesel Technology Program at San Diego Miramar College offers a two-year curriculum with three tracts, one which leads to a Certificate of Achievement, and two which lead to an Associate in Science Degree. In addition, the diesel program offers the Certificate of Completion (mini certificates) in ten specialty areas. These certificates can be applied toward the Certificate of Achievement or the Associate in Science degree.
