We provide free tutoring and other academic support services to SDCCD students. We are here to help you develop the skills needed to succeed in your academic journey. We look forward to working with you soon!

The tutor availability is on myWCOnline.
The ASC offers NetTutor and STAR-CA.
NetTutor offers one-on-one, online meeting, paper drop-off, and question drop-off.
STAR-CA offers live, drop-in tutoring.
Click here (or this link https://sdccd.instructure.com/enroll/MEAEEJ ) to get started in using NetTutor and STAR-CA. You will be taken to a new page titled "Enroll in Miramar Tutoring". Click the "Enroll in Course" button on the right-hand side. Then, you will be on the front page of the Miramar Tutoring Canvas course. Click the "NetTutor" link on the left-hand side menu to access both NetTutor and STAR-CA. Let me know how I can support you.
Important Notice about NetTutor
In the current negotiated agreement between the union AFT and SDCCD, NetTutor is blacked out for certain subjects from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday, from January 29, 2024 to May 23, 2024. Outside of these days and times, NetTutor is not blacked out for those subjects.

Our paper drop-off service will be available from 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 1, 2024, to noon on Tuesday, May 21, 2024.
When you are using the service, make sure to fill out the required quiz. Provide all the information about your prompt and if it is doable, attach your instructor's directions for your paper.
After submitting a paper, you should expect feedback in 48 hours (turnaround time). Please note that the 48 hours are during our hours of tutoring operation (10:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m., Monday-Thursday). The 48-hour turnaround time does not include the weekend. A paper submitted on Thursday at noon should be returned to you at noon the following Tuesday.

At the Academic Success Center (Room L-101), there are study rooms and tables for individual or group use. There are tables, chairs, and dry erase boards and markers in the study rooms.
Students can access anatomy models, microscopes, and textbooks. Students can use these resources on a drop-in or by-appointment basis.
There is a pay-for-print service for copies.
These services are available 9 am-6 pm, Monday-Thursday, and 9 am-1 pm, Friday.

E-mail a completed application and college transcript(s) to Donnie Tran at dtran@sdccd.edu . Your transcript(s) must show a letter grade of B or higher in the courses you are interested in tutoring in.
Please do not attach additional attachments. Documents such as letters of recommendation and resumes are not reviewed.
Must have successfully taken ED 100 before applying. You cannot start work until you have ED 100 completed.
Here is what our screening/hiring process entails:
⇒Step 1) Screen applications. Contact reference.
⇒Step 2) Invite qualified applicants for an interview.
⇒Step 3) Offer tutoring position to the successful applicant.
⇒Step 4) Initiate SDCCD new hire paperwork. Among the tasks, the successful applicant needs to get done fingerprinting and TB test and submit on the HR Web site a district's tutor application.
