P. Darrel Harrison

Department Chair

Darrel Harrison is a graduate from Western Sierra School of Law. He is the program director and tenured professor for the paralegal program.

Darrel teaches Introduction to Paralegalism (Legl 100a), Legal Procedures (Legl 100b), Legal Research (Legl 105), Legal Communications (Legl 110), Bankruptcy Law (Legl 160), Law Office Management and Technology (Legl 140), and Business Law (Buse 140).

Yanina Gabinskaya, JD


Yanna is an adjunct professor. She teaches Immigration Law (Legl 210)

Yanna graduated from San Diego Miramar College Paralegal Program and the Saratoga University School of Law. Yanna works as a Legal Administrator and Immigration Specialists for the law firm of Sachs & Associates.

Dovie is an adjunct professor. She teaches Bankruptcy (Legl 160), Legal Research (Legl 105) and Employment Law (Legl 155)

Dovie Yoana King is a practicing attorney at a San Diego law firm specializing in employment and labor law. She earned her BA at Brown University and JD at Northeastern University School of Law. She is a member of the American Association for Paralegal Education.

Mary Best

Mary is an adjunct professor. She teaches Litigation (Legl 115), Torts (Legl 120) and Law Office Management and Technology (Legl 140).

Mary Best has been an attorney at Keeney Waite & Stevens for many years. She has a civil litigation practice which emphasizes all areas of real property law. She graduated with honors from the University of Wisconsin with a B.A. in English and Journalism and went on to attain her law degree from the University of San Diego School of Law in 1983. Mary sits as a judge pro tem for the San Diego Superior Court, and as an arbitrator for the San Diego Superior Court and the San Diego Bar Association. She also teaches various legal courses for the San Diego Community College District.

Ron Stormoen

Ron is an adjunct professor. He teaches Contract Law (Legl 180) and Corporate Law (Legl 170).

Ron has been practicing law since 1986 in San Diego. Ron received his J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law, graduating cum laude. He focuses his practice on Business, Construction and Real Estate Litigation and transactions. Ron also has substantial experience in general civil litigation, collections, personal injury, and trust, estate and probate litigation. Ron also has niche areas as varied as intellectual property, start ups, land use, corporate compliance issues, home care and neighbor disputes. He also is a judge pro tem with the San Diego Superior Court, Small Claims division and a settlement commissioner with the Court.

Teresa Trucchi, JD

Teresa is an adjunct professor. She teaches Legal Research (Legl 105), Litigation (Legl 115), Torts (Legl 120), Law Office Management & Technology (Legl 140), and Family Law (Legl 165)

Teresa is a partner with the law firm of Suppa, Trucchi and Henein LLP. Teresa Trucchi graduated from law school at California Western School of Law and has an undergraduate degree from Univ of Nebraska. Teresa is a certified family law specialist.
